These Senators Vote on the Abortion Amendment Twice

EMILY’s List put Pennsylvania on its 2026 map, and the senators elected November 3rd will vote on the Abortion Amendment twice. Democrats are two seats from tying the Senate and three from the votes that amendment needs, and Right to Life Pennsylvania is asking supporters to stand in the gap with an emergency gift before October 20th.

Pro-life election alert · Response needed before Oct. 20

Stand in the gap for life. These senators vote on the Abortion Amendment twice.

Well, my friend, it’s October. The Tuesday, November 3 election is just weeks away, and the abortion lobby is pulling out every stop it has to win Pennsylvania.

EMILY’s List, the national group that exists to elect pro-abortion politicians, is pouring millions into nine states this year, and Pennsylvania is one of them. In their own press release, they called their work here in 2026 “crucial ahead of key races here in 2028,” and my heart sank when I read that, because I know exactly why. Those are the two elections standing between the abortion lobby and our State Constitution.

Why these senators vote on it twice

Last December, Democrats in the Pennsylvania House passed their Abortion Amendment. The Republican-controlled Senate stopped it, but in January it starts over. An amendment has to pass both chambers, wait through a general election, and pass both chambers again before it goes to the voters.

Pennsylvania senators serve four-year terms. That means the senators we elect on November 3 will vote on the Abortion Amendment not once, but twice.

Democrats already hold the Governor’s Mansion and the state House. Republicans hold the Senate 27 to 23. If Democrats flip just two seats, it’s a 25 to 25 tie, and a Democratic Lieutenant Governor could break tie votes to hand them control of what comes up for a vote. Flip three, and they’d have the 26 votes the Abortion Amendment needs. Then they’d push their whole agenda:

  • The Abortion Amendment, passed once and lined up for a second vote and a statewide ballot fight. Once it’s in our Constitution, it’s nearly impossible to undo.
  • Taxpayer-funded abortion. A court has already struck down Pennsylvania’s ban on Medicaid-funded abortion, and taxpayer-funded abortions started this July while the appeal goes to the state Supreme Court. A pro-abortion Legislature won’t lift a finger to stop it.
  • Tearing down protections like parental consent, waiting periods and other limits on abortion.

I don’t want that for Pennsylvania’s unborn babies, and I don’t believe you do either. Will you send an emergency gift to Right to Life Pennsylvania today? Please give whatever you can afford.

Two Senate races may decide it

We can’t match the abortion lobby’s money. But politics isn’t only a money game. It’s a numbers game. Last year, Democrats flipped Senate District 36 in Lancaster County by just 526 votes, in a district President Trump carried by 15 points. And this August, they took a House seat in Butler County by just 98 votes.

In Senate District 36, pro-life Republican Tom Jones is running to take that seat back, and with pro-life voters turning out, we can win it.

In Senate District 24, Senator Tracy Pennycuick, an Army veteran and a steady pro-life voice, won her Berks and Montgomery County seat by just four points in 2022. The abortion lobby sees it as one of its best chances to flip the Senate.

Win both, and Democrats would have to flip three seats somewhere else just to tie the Senate. Lose both, and they’re already halfway to a tie.

That’s why Right to Life Pennsylvania is reaching pro-life voters with direct mail, email, texts, digital ads and our friends in local churches. But we can only reach as many people as we can afford to reach.

In Ezekiel 22:30, the Lord says, “I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land.” For the preborn babies of Pennsylvania, this election is the gap. They can’t vote, and they can’t speak for themselves. On November 3, we have to stand for them. I don’t want to wake up on November 4 wishing I’d done more for the little boys and girls who have no voice.

Please stand in the gap with me before Oct. 20 and give whatever you can afford. Every gift helps us reach one more pro-life family, one more church and one more voter.

P.S. The senators we elect on November 3 will vote on the Abortion Amendment twice, and just two Senate seats could hand Democrats control of the Senate’s agenda. Please send an emergency gift before Oct. 20 to help us reach pro-life voters before Election Day.
