Rep. Chip Roy pulled his amendment on the understanding that the FDA would finish its abortion pill review this fall. Now the FDA expects to finish in March 2027. Right to Life Pennsylvania is asking the FDA to stop the delay and end mail-order abortion pills.

Mail-order abortion pills are still going out across this country, and the FDA has just pushed its review back again. A member of Congress called them out on it last week, and I want the FDA to hear from Pennsylvania too.

The review slipped to March 2027

On October 14, Rep. Chip Roy wrote to Acting FDA Commissioner Kyle Diamantas about the review of the abortion pill, mifepristone. Earlier this year he withdrew an amendment to cut off federal funds for the 2023 rule change that allowed abortion pills by mail and through pharmacies. He did that on the understanding that FDA would finish its review this fall. Now FDA expects to finish in March 2027.

“The need to complete a review cannot become a justification for indefinite delay,” Roy wrote. He says that, absent prompt action by FDA, he’ll seek to put his amendment in the next continuing resolution, and he asked FDA to answer by October 27. FDA hasn’t decided anything yet.

Add your name: no more delay

Every month this drags on is another month of abortion pills by mail, with no doctor in the room. I’m asking the FDA to stop the delay and end mail-order abortion pills. Sign the petition and we’ll make sure Pennsylvania’s voice is counted.
